Madonna is an egotistical idiot for using her daughter in a hair-brained scam to rip off a trademark that she doesn't own. She should have trademarked the Material Girl phrase for use in fashion a long time ago, but basically used the concept to enhance her image and as a musical expression instead. If she was TRADING,ie: selling product like clothing under the name Material Girl all along, she might have retained exclusive rights. However she does have some small claim to development of the concept as she has been known as(aka), The Material Girl. Sometimes sarcastically.
